The events at this year's Boston Marathon gathered the world's attention, and brought together a city, a nation, and a global community in mourning, peace, and a resolve to continue on while keeping the three dead and scores injured in our thoughts and prayers.
The One Fund Boston, Inc., backed by Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick and Boston Mayor Tom Menino, is a fund created to help the people most affected by the tragic events that occurred in Boston on April 15, 2013.
We are gamers. Our passion for our online sport is strong. For the past year, the National Grifball Association, a gaming website and Halo Grifball League, has been proudly run out of Revere, Massachusetts, a city bordering Boston, and its founders/owners are lifelong residents of the area.
Our goal is to raise at least one thousand dollars to be given to The One Fund Boston, Inc. as a way of showing support to another sport and its community, as well as helping the victims of the bombings in their recovery.
If you would like to donate to our cause at any time, please feel free. No amount is too small. In the coming weeks we will be holding a series of events to raise funds for this cause. On May 4th and 5th we will be livestreaming 26.2 straight hours of Grifball, and during the week of May 6-12, we will be asking community members to commit to playing 26 games of Grifball in a sponsorship-based campaign.
For more details on the specific events we will be holding, please visit our website at http://www.grifball.net or follow us on Twitter @Grifballnet
“We are one Boston. We are one community. As always, we will come together
to help those most in need. And in the end, we will all be better for it.”
Thank you for your time and for showing your support to the victims and our incredible city.
