Through the sport of triathlon, my daughter got the opportunity to be a guide for a visually impaired young man. She met David Adame and his son Brandon at a triathlon. My daughter was curious what she needed to do to be a part of their organization. She guided at a 5k with some students from the Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired. The opporunity has presented itself again in 2013. Audrey will be guiding at athlete looking to compete with a time of 1:45 or less in the Houston Half Marathon. I will be helping my athlete make a 2:30 or better time. We will be tethered together and hopefully helping our athletes have a great race experience by being their windows to the course. Being an able bodied athlete without any disabliites is a gift we don't take for granted. We are pleased to share our talents and give of our time to be a part of something special for someone else.
